Net zero energy, electrical safety and water conservation are just a few of the high-interest topics to be featured at the North Texas Facilities/Managing Green Buildings Expo and Conference, to be held October 5 and 6 at the Dallas Market Hall.
Directed to the interests of the Dallas/Fort Worth facilities engineering and energy management community, the event features exhibits and seminars, both free to attendees.
"This is our 13th year for the event, and we have expanded the scope to add substantial green building products and services to complement our core facilities and maintenance focus," said Joyce Lortz, Show Manager.
Speakers on the conference program include Jeff Hanson, Global Energy Manager, Texas Instruments, describing TI's journey in building the world's first LEED-Gold semiconductor fabrication plant; Kevin Oden, of the Dallas Office of Emergency Management, providing guidelines for facilities' emergency response planning; IFMA Fellow Glin Jay, of McKissack & McKissack, telling how to get facilities projects approved by corporate management; and Jerry Nickerson Jr., Interim VP-Facilities and Development, Parkland Hospital Health System talking about the green hospital achievements of Parkland Memorial in Dallas. Other participants include presenters from the OSHA Dallas office, Coppell Independent School District and the real estate company Parmenter.
The hours for the expo are from 10 AM to 3 PM on Wednesday, October 5 and from 10 AM to 2 PM on Thursday, October 6; conference hours are from 8:40 AM to 3:10 PM. on October 5 and 8:40 AM to 2:40 PM on October 6. There is no charge to attend.
