Industry 4.0 the emphasis of IMTS 2016 for Fagor Automation

Fagor Automation USA Corporation, based out of Elk Grove Village, IL, will be displaying aspects of Industry 4.0 at IMTS 2016.

Industry 4.0 will be the prevalent technology within the Fagor Automation IMTS booth. Aspects of Industry 4.0 include robotic control coupled with smart data analysis based upon new Smart Factory Automation. "Based upon shared information between all items, manufacturing decisions can be decentralized and operators can create a network of intelligent objects within a Smart Factory," said a company spokesperson.

Also on display will be the new Fagor 8060 FL CNC and the Multi-Axes Box (MAB) that is a compact, easy to integrate CNC solution for small to mid-size machine tool applications.

With standard features including a complete library of canned cycles for milling and turning, the 8060 FL CNC provides a complete and comprehensive standard machine tool solution. Also offered is Compact Flash expansion capability plus two USB ports with one located on the keyboard for easy access. The Process Informer feature the ability to automatically text or notify the user of CNC conditions in a lights-out machining situation. In addition, a free offline simulator is offered with each 8060 FL that can assist in quotations and offline program creation.

"The Multi-Axes Box (MAB) is a compact philosophy on the management of the servo and spindle drives." said the spokesperson. Designed as a compact box that can save between 15-60% over conventional servo drive cabinet layout, the MAB is a solution for most 2-axis turning and 3-axis milling machine configurations.

Offered with both Regenerative and non-generative drives, the MAB can contain up to 4-axis servo drives or 3-axis servo drives plus a spindle. With the ability to handle up to 15 kW (20 HP) spindle motor systems and 23 NM servomotors, the MAB has the capability to easily handle even moderately sized machining and turning centers.

An advanced wireless HBA handheld pendant will also be on display, offering great ease for those with large machines to perform a range of functions in or around the machine. Equipped with a LCD screen, capability will include Jog, MDI, home reference and other user functions.

Additional products on display will be the new line-up of micro motors. Solutions for compact machines and also the food and packaging industry, the all new FKM 12 series motor is offered with a .54 NM stall torque rating , 4,500 RPM capability and can be equipped with an absolute encoder. In addition, new micro motor offerings are available in the FKM 14, 21 and 22 series motor frame sizes.

Fagor Automation's premiere CNC product will be on display as well. The 8065 series CNC designed specifically for high performance applications, is equipped with proprietary advanced features to execute high speed machining applications at high speed while maintaining good surface finish and accuracy.

Fagor has also announced the 8070 L series CNC designed specifically for high performance laser machine applications. The machine is equipped with a host of laser specific features such as grid pattern and synchronized switching, which helps users reduce cycle time.

Also on display will be the 8055 series CNC, which utilizes a simple to program icon key based conversational programming system and also a built-in ISO G-code programming system within the same control. This full featured CNC control for milling, turning, grinding or general purpose applications ranges from 2- to 7-axes.

The GA, LA and SA absolute linear encoder lines for all applications requiring high accuracy absolute positioning capability will be on display. Fagor offers absolute protocols for most major CNC control applications.

Fagor will also display the 40i True Vision Digital Readout and high resolution rotary encoder series.
