Marathon Machine Tools recently hosted its Open House at its technical sales, service and retrofit center in Humble, TX. "MMT has been servicing the Texas/Louisiana market for over 25 years by offering high quality machine tools, great service and retrofitting solutions of a range of CNC lathes/machining centers such as Mori Seiki, Okuma and Mazak," said a company spokesperson.
Marathon Machine Tools represenst Danobat OCTG turning and grinding division, GROB multi-axis machining centers, VANTAGE Oil Country lathes, NCT machine tool division offering single source machine tools including CNC control package, and ONA EDM.
Marathon formed a joint venture with Danobat Group in 2014. In the process, Danobat moved its U.S. headquarters to the MMT facility. Marathon is now directly servicing the Texas and Louisiana manufacturing community as an OEM company promoting the Danobat turning machines and grinding machines. Marathon continues to offer its complete machine tool rebuilding program, including FANUC and NCT retrofit solutions for many different machine tool brands. The company also offers ball bar test and laser measuring services.
Representatives of Seco tooling, SMW Autoblok, Mastercam and Cogsdill specialty tooling displayed their latest technology. Ryan Ladle from Mastercam showed a live demonstration on one of the retrofitted machining centers with the NCT-201 control.
Representatives were also present from US Steel, TMK Ipsco, Republic Tube, Technip - FMC Technology and others. "The Danobat TTB premium pipe threading lathe mockup was the center of attention, as well as videos of our automated coupling cells," said the spokesperson. Jeff Heath from Autonetics presented Autonetics' automated pipe threading inspection robotic system.
