Swivel Chucks for Machining Oil/Gas Bushings
September 1, 2016
RÖHM Products of America offers swivel chucks optimized for the clamping of couplings for the oil and gas industry. The chucks permit machining of bushings, connectors and adaptors from both sides, increasing both radial and axial accuracies while minimizing set-up time.
The swivel axis, which lies 90° relative to the rotary axis, brings the workpiece into machining position automatically. In the hydraulically-operated HSFZ chuck, a combination of three concentric clamping jaws with three compensating clamping jaws helps to ensure low-deformation clamping.
The power-operated KSFZ swivel chuck is an alternative clamping solution. The workpiece is clamped at four points via two concentric clamping jaws. The clamping jaws are actuated via a clamping cylinder on the end of the spindle. Concentric clamping swivel chucks are available from diameters of 210 mm to 820 mm and according to individual application requirements.
