Quick-Swap Fixtures for All Portable Shop Floor CMMs

Phillips Precision, Inc. offers new fixture systems for gauge arms, laser trackers and all portable 3-D CMMs.
"Manufacturers are turning to portable 3-D measuring arms, laser trackers and other DCC CMMs for a leaner, more productive shop floor," said a company spokesperson. To further enhance the value and productivity, Inspection Arsenal now offers the quick-swap, highly repeatable fixturing designed for all portable devices.
New for portable CMMs is a universal Loc-N-Load base plate/dock designed with four locations to accept all sizes of interlocking quick-swap plates. The base is manufactured with the same 1" x 1" hole pattern (1/4-20 thread) as the plates to create a seamless workholding area. Clamps are included that are designed to affix any style or brand device to the base plate.
By fixturing on quick-swap plates, operators can change parts in and out without building and breaking down set-ups. Several unique parts can be set up or multiples of the same part fixtured and programs repeated. Affordable plates can be dedicated and kept with the job box for fast, repeatable set-ups.
Customers can purchase items individually or choose the pre-configured bundle that includes a 24" x 12" base, two 6" x 6" and two 6" x 12" plates, a 12" x 12" plate, a specially designed removable qualifying ball plate and a versatile angle plate. Also included is a workholding kit versatile enough to hold most any part.
