AIDA-America has completed an $11.5 million facility expansion that includes a large building addition and installation of several pieces of capital equipment. The building addition has increased AIDA-America's manufacturing space by 32,000 sq. ft., for a total facility footprint of 180,000 sq. ft.
The expansion also includes significant investments to increase AIDA-America's machining capabilities to boost production capacity and efficiency. The company has added a large capacity Toshiba BSF-180B CNC milling and boring machine to its equipment portfolio. This machine tool is capable of machining up to 12 m long x 4.5 m high. The BSF-180B includes a rotary table with 130 metric ton capacity. "This machine further strengthens AIDA-America's position as the only North American stamping press manufacturer capable of local production of servo and mechanical stamping presses up to 3,500 tons," said a company spokesperson.
Other upgrades to AIDA-America's facility include a 416 pallet automated storage and retrieval system, a 50 ton overhead bridge crane, a 25 ton overhead bridge crane and a 2.5 ton traveling wall jib crane.
In 2015, AIDA America added 35 full time employees and plans for an additional 30 in 2016.
