Automatic Pallet Changers with Robot Arm
August 1, 2018
Midaco will feature its automatic pallet changer equipped with the Universal Robots UR10 arm for collaborative automation.
"Pairing a pallet changer with this new feature will enable part changing on pallets while operators attend to other machines," said a company spokesperson. "It reduces strain by automating repetitive part loading tasks of payloads that weigh up to 22 lbs. (10 kg)."
With a flexible reach of 51.2" (1,300 mm), the UR10 arm can easily access parts on a table or conveyor set up alongside an automatic pallet changer and perform the loading operation. Programming is easy with intuitive 3-D visualization: simply move the robot arm to desired waypoints on the pallet. Midaco's automatic pallet changer equipped with the UR10 arm enables operators to set up parts outside of the VMC. The pallet changer automatically switches pallets when the first job is complete. It may be mounted on either the left or the right side of a machining center.
In addition to automatic pallet changers with pallet sizes from 22" x 14" (609.6 mm x 381 mm) up to 190" x 72" (4,826 mm x 1,829 mm), Midaco also has manual pallet changers up to 60" x 25" (1,524 mm x 635 mm) and manual "lift off" pallet systems. Other products include automatic door systems for machining centers, turning centers and robot loaders, multi-pallet systems for 5-axis machining and trunnion systems for 4th axis machining to turn a vertical into a horizontal without the need for cable management.
