Form Grinder with Optional Ball Screw Table Drive

The ACC-818NC is a full-function, 2-axis simultaneous CNC form grinder suitable for surface, slot, step, form and contour grinding. This grinder is now available with ball screw table drive, enabling precise positioning and making it well suited for use with a variety of third party indexing and centerless grinding devices. "Now users can grind cylindrical components including pins, punches and mold components such as core pins with extreme accuracy and ef?ciency," said a company spokesperson. In addition, available indexing ?xtures streamline grinding of punches and other components requiring 2-axis simultaneous control.
The ACC-818NC features heavily ribbed Meehanite construction throughout. Full contact double vee ways offer true tracking and precise positioning. The rigid wheelhead assembly is designed to provide long-term accuracy and reliability even under demanding grinding conditions. A 3-point diamond dresser includes one 2-point angle dresser for form dressing and one 1-point dresser for straight dressing. Table feed control boosts productivity by enabling simple setting of up to five different stroke positions-ideal for multiple workpiece grinding.
The grinder has a table working area (W x L) of 8" x 16" with a 265-lb. load capacity. The 8" x 1" x 1.25" grinding wheel is driven by a 2 HP grinding wheel spindle.
User-friendly conversational programming simpli?es set-up and operation even for operators unfamiliar with CNC. An RS232C port and PC card slot are standard.
Standard accessories include grinding wheel with adapter, spindle inverter, 3-point table mounted dresser, wheel guard with coolant nozzle table slash cover and more. Available options include fully enclosed splashguard, coolant tank with a variety of available ?ltration systems, electro-magnetic chuck, centerlines grinding devices, indexing devices and more.
