New Delcam for SolidWorks at SEMA
July 30, 2014Delcam will launch the 2015 version of its Delcam for SolidWorks CAM software and PowerSHAPE software at the automotive specialty products trade event, SEMA, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 4th to the 7th.
According to the company, the new release of Delcam for SolidWorks includes a range of enhancements in 3-axis milling, drilling, turning and wire EDM. The new PowerSHAPE Pro CAD for CAM release includes improvements in direct modeling, surface modeling and reverse engineering, plus support for data from Creaform HandySCAN handheld scanners.
"Delcam for SolidWorks combines the benefits associated with Delcam's PowerMILL and FeatureCAM CAM systems, it is based on Delcam's machining algorithms. The software offers PowerMILL's speed of toolpath calculation, plus the advanced strategies for high-speed and five-axis machining to ensure increased productivity, maximum tool life and immaculate surface finish, even when cutting the hardest, most challenging materials. At the same time, Delcam for SolidWorks has the same strong focus on ease of use as FeatureCAM, including all of the knowledge-based automation that makes that system so consistent and reliable," said a company spokesperson.
PowerSHAPE Pro offers a combination of solid, surface and direct modeling, together with reverse engineering functionality. "Having all the different technologies in the same package reduces the need to transfer data between multiple programs and so streamlines the whole product development process. At the same time, the combination of quick and easy direct modeling options, together with powerful and flexible surface modeling, makes PowerSHAPE Pro the perfect choice for design for manufacture," said the spokesperson.
