Lean Manufacturing Welding and Marking Workstations, Fiber Laser Technology at FABTECH 2014

Miyachi America Corporation, a manufacturer of welding, marking, cutting and micro machining equipment and systems, will showcase welding and marking workstations and fiber laser technology at FABTECH 2014. The LMWS laser marker workstation, the LF200 Fiber Laser Welder with the LWWS Fiber Laser Scan Head Welding Workstation, the MAWA-300A Pulsed Micro TIG Welder and the IS-800CR mid-frequency inverter weld control will be on display.

"The LMWS laser marker workstation is a cost-effective, turnkey product for laser marking operations. With its compact footprint, available custom fixtures and available rotary motion for circumferential marking, the LMWS workstation is designed for manual batch part making. The LWWS is similarly compact and versatile for welding operations and is designed to combine the welding efficiency of fiber lasers with the high-speed motion capabilities of scan heads. Both workstations are designed for lean manufacturing environments. The LF200 fiber laser welder, to be demonstrated with the LWWS, is designed for fine cutting, small component welding and penetrating welding of metals due to the precise control it offers. Its clear touchscreen and intuitive user interface allow users to easily view and reprogram parameters," said a company spokesperson.

The MAWA-300A Pulsed Micro TIG Welder, a benchtop system for welding small components like coils, terminals, bus bars and coated wires, will be featured. According to the company, the MAWA-300A features a pulsation mode, which facilitates weld nugget shaping and porosity reduction, as well as a touch start that helps control weld location and improves weld appearance.

The new IS-800CR is an 800 amp mid-frequency inverter power supply that provides output power ranging from .050-40kA in 4 ranges, to be used as a standalone welding station or for applications requiring many different sized parts to be welded on the same station. The IS-800CR is designed for applications requiring closed-loop feedback control and fast response times. It is available in both a basic and fully featured model.
