Custom Weld Inspection Carts

Bilsing's new custom-designed Weld Inspection Carts.

Bilsing Automation North America has announced its new custom-designed Weld Inspection Cart capability, designed to allow easy access to all body panel welds for integrity testing. According to the company, the carts can be tailored to hold any shaped workpiece and are built on wheels for portability. Components, such as fenders, hoods and doors, are mounted to the carts with mechanical clamps. A pivot feature then allows the operator to adjust the component up, down or over for access to both the front and back of the workpiece for visual weld inspection and physical weld integrity testing.

"The inspection carts are designed to support workpiece weight as well as physical impact via destructive testing applied to verify weld integrity. Benefits of the Bilsing designed inspection carts include better access to all welds, increase in part inspection time, portability and ease of use," said a company spokesperson.

According to the company, the Weld Inspection Carts are typically loaded near the end of line and completed with a Lift Assist. Lead-time from initial concept through delivery for a typical cart takes about 8 - 10 weeks.

Bilsing Automation North America is a subsidiary of Bilsing Automation GmbH, developer and manufacturer of modular tooling systems for the pressroom, body shop and plastic molding applications in the automotive, food, packaging and glass industries.
