Methods Machine Tools to Hold Arizona Tech Center Open House November 5-6

Methods Machine Tools, Inc., a supplier of precision machine tools, automation and accessories, will be holding an open house at its state-of-the-art Technology Center in Tempe, AZ, on November 5th and 6th, 2014 from 10 AM - 5 PM each day. "Manufacturing professionals are welcome and encouraged to attend," said a company spokesperson.

Methods will have several precision machines under power with advanced machining demonstrations, including the YASDA YMC 430 Ver. II, a new micro machining center that is designed for the precise manufacturing and high surface finishes required on small, complex features in components and dies/molds in industries such as medical and semi-conductor. The Nakamura-Tome AS-200 high performance multitasking turning center, featuring a single spindle, single turret in a heavy duty and compact machine, will also be featured. From the recently introduced KIWA-Methods KMH horizontal machining series, Methods will demonstrate the new, compact KMH-300A direct drive 40-taper, 15,000 RPM, 300 mm dual pallet machine.

The FANUC C600iA RoboCut wire EDM machine with a CNC FANUC Series 31i-WB control will be under power and featuring several new capabilities, including new Volumetric Taper Compensation with 4-axis over burn control (TPCMP), a first in the industry, according to the company. The FANUC RoboDrill D21iL (long bed) vertical machining center (VMC) with a 24,000 RPM spindle dual pallet changer will be demonstrated with the latest controller from FANUC.

High performance FEELER machining centers will include the HV-1000 40-taper, 15,000 RPM spindle VMC and the FTC-100 slant bed CNC turning center with a high precision 6,000 RPM, 15 HP spindle motor to meet the demanding needs of heavy cutting. From Citizen Swiss Turning Center, an L20 type Xii will be shown. A Current EDM drilling machine will be EDM drilling small holes, and metrology products will include the VisionGauge Digital Optical Comparator 500 and 400 Series.

Methods experts will be on hand to discuss manufacturers' application requirements. In addition, visitors will be able to view the latest tooling, workholding, software and probing technology products being displayed by participating companies. Lunch will be catered by the BBQ Company.
