High Performance Combination Plasma and Fiber Laser Machine

MetalMaster Xcel high performance combination plasma/fiber laser cutting machine with a traverse speed of 3,000 IPM.

Messer Cutting Systems has introduced its new combination plasma/fiber laser cutting machine. The MetalMaster Xcel features traversing speeds of 3,000 IPM, a robust design and high acceleration drives. Multiple tools can be added including plasma beveling, oxyfuel, combination plasma/fiber laser cutting, drilling and marking coupled with OmniWin software.

According to the company, the MetalMaster Xcel is two machines in one. Using a plasma/fiber laser combination cut on the same piece part will increase productivity by allowing critical internal features to be cut with the fiber laser and external features to be cut with the plasma torch without moving the part to another piece of equipment.

"The MetalMaster Xcel features high performance 1,800 IPM at .5 g lifters and is designed to accommodate all types of varying plate conditions. It features a patented Slagger self-cleaning table yielding performance by reducing table cleaning time from hours to minutes. It uses a professional menu driven, feature rich, Global Control Plus CNC. Its rugged construction and proven technology leads to long-term durability," said a company spokesperson.

Messer Cutting Systems unveiled the new MetalMaster Xcel at the 2014 Fabtech Expo. Participants watched live bevel cutting, drilling and marking demonstrations and participated in interactive touch screen OmniWin software demonstrations. Messer also showed the MPC2000 cutting machine featuring the Infinity Rotator for plasma bevel cutting, a heavy-duty drill with two inch drilling and an ALFA oxyfuel torch and Telesis Pinstamp for plate marking.

"We anticipate an excellent market welcome with our new MetalMaster Xcel plasma / fiber laser combination machine," said Joerg Toberna Director of Marketing.
