January 1, 2015
Coldwater Machine Company, an engineering solutions company that manufactures and integrates precision equipment and tools for multiple industries, has announced the recipients of its 2014-15 Coldwater Machine Company Engineering Scholarships. The scholarships, totaling $12,000, are administered through the Western Ohio Educational Foundation (WOEF) at the Lake Campus of Wright University.
The incoming freshman recipient is Mitchell Pfenning of New Bremen. Renewal recipients include sophomore Clint J. Knapke of Marion Local, junior Derek Watterman of Coldwater and senior Zachary Heckman of Marion Local. Each of these students will receive $3,000 toward the cost of their 2014-15 education.
"We are proud to support these students in pursuit of their engineering careers," said Coldwater Machine President Tim McCaughey. "Coldwater believes in developing the talents of young people by offering internships and scholarships, thus providing them opportunities to engage in today's modern world of manufacturing."
To qualify for the Coldwater engineering scholarships, students must be high school graduates from the tri-county (Auglaize-Mercer-Drake) area pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering at the Lake Campus of Wright State University and maintain a 2.8 GPA or higher. Applicants must apply each year for review by the Western Ohio Educational Foundation committee, which chooses four students - one from each of the incoming classes - as a recipient of $3,000 for the current academic year.
