EFC International Expands Offering of Lock-Bolts
January 1, 2015
EFC International, a provider of specialty engineered fastener component parts, is now providing access to lock-bolt fastening technology from TITGEMEYER. LockBolt systems are offered in a variety of sizes to accommodate an array of grip range requirements, panel thicknesses and hole sizes, as well as joint strength needs. The two-piece system (pin and collar) is available in steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Features and benefits include vibration resistance, permanent clamp force, multiple head styles/configurations, fast and easy installation and color coding options.
Standard LockBolt Systems
This is high performance pin and collar fastening system. The two-part system comprises a pin with defined break-neck grove and a collar. "Once installed, it provides the ultimate in vibration resistance with no loosening," said a company spokesperson. Pin and collars provide high shear and tensile strength and a permanent clamp force to the workpiece. Lock-bolt pins and collars have a defined grip range - the total material thickness must be within the grip range of the pin.
MultiGrip LockBolt Systems
This is a high performance pin and collar fastening system with an extra wide grip range. This two-part system comprises a pin with integrated variable break-point and a multi-grip flanged collar. The workpiece must be accessible from both sides - the swaging of the collar onto the pin is achieved using a power tool. As with standard lock-bolt systems, multi-grip pin and collars provide high shear and tensile strength and a permanent clamp force to the workpiece.
