Icon Machine Tool and TRUMPF Hold Technology Seminar

Recently 38 customers from the Pacific Northwest and Midwest joined Icon Machine Tool for machine demonstrations and a plant tour at the TRUMPF facility in Farmington, CT. "Most people do not realize that TRUMPF builds seven laser models and one punching model from the ground up in Farmington, CT," said Jeff Hall, Principal of Icon Machine Tool. Icon has been selling TRUMPF products since 2003.
A technology seminar allowed manufacturers to look at different technologies and learn how to use them to become more competitive in today's market. Seminar highlights included taking a closer look at new laser technologies, specifically fiber-delivered lasers. The differences between CO2 lasers and fiber disc lasers were discussed, and because TRUMPF builds both styles in Connecticut, attendees were able to see them side by side. "TRUMPF is a reliable resource when it comes to resonator manufacturing," said one attendee. "Its comparison is trusted since it offers both technologies and has been building both for decades." Other highlights of the seminar series included demonstrations of the tube lasers and automated bending cells.
"This series was very successful and filled quickly with customers primarily from the Pacific Northwest. We plan to hold another seminar in Spring 2015," Hall said.
