Houston-Based Grinding Technology Now KOMET SERVICE Partner

KOMET of America, Inc. and Grinding Technology LLC have announced the official start of their KOMET SERVICE partnership. Grinding Technology is now authorized to regrind and refurbish KOMET tools, as well as to manufacture KOMET custom solid carbide tools. Based in Houston, TX, Grinding Technology LLC is the first KOMET SERVICE Partner in the Gulf of Mexico region.

The two companies recently marked the official start of their partnership with a ceremony, cocktails and an open house. Guests included KOMET of America representatives, Grinding Technology's employees and families, as well as customers, distributors and business partners of both companies. After the ceremony, whereby KOMET of America awarded Grinding Technology an official plaque and tool refurbishment handbook, attendees were treated to food and refreshments, as well as tours of the shop and live demonstrations.

Bill Perego, Vice President of Grinding Technology, said, "Though we have just begun our partnership together, we are already seeing the benefits. We have already had increased market exposure through KOMET, as well as joint meetings with distributors in the Houston metro area. We are positive that this will help grow our business."

"We choose to partner with only the best tooling and regrinding shops, and Grinding Technology certainly fits that pattern," said Tom Whennen, Manager of KOMET SERVICE in North America. "We are certain that they will live up to customers' expectations as well as KOMET's high standards of quality."

According to a spokesperson, through Grinding Technology's partnership with KOMET customers can expect the following:

  • Quick turnaround and service for their tooling needs
  • Reliable and consistent refurbishment of tools
  • Manufacture of simple custom carbide tooling to KOMET quality standards
  • Local pickup, delivery and expedited services.
