VMC Technologies now represents Fadal in Michigan. Fadal Engineering, a Michigan-based company, and Merrill Technologies Group (MTG), a Michigan-based, family-owned manufacturer, have joined forces to launch a new Fadal CNC full-range product line which includes vertical machining centers and horizontal turning centers.

VMC Technologies Inc. recently held its annual Oktoberfest Open House event at the company's Troy, MI, headquarters. Customers enjoyed German beer / food and an afternoon of networking. VMC displayed its latest machine tool technology with live demonstrations from machine tool manufactures including Sodick, VMT, Fives, Fidia and Fadal.
Sodick VZ500L Wire EDM
Sodick's VZ500L features XYZ travels of 19.69" (500 mm), 13.78" (350 mm) and 9.84" (250 mm). This linear motor driven, precision wire EDM features new user-friendly EDMing technology designed to enhance productivity and EDMing precision. The machine's linear motor axes drives are coupled with glass scales on the X, Y, U and V axes, which help ensure precision cutting and positioning accuracy. According to the company, Sodick's X, Y, U and V linear motor drives have no backlash and are backed by Sodick's 10-year positioning accuracy guarantee.
The VZ500Ls Windows XP based high-speed control comes standard with a large 15.1" LCD touchscreen. Standard items such as the LAN network connection and a 1 GB USB memory stick provide easy transfer of programming files. The 4 GB compact flash card memory eliminates hard drives, which can crash and result in lost data. According to the company, the Heart NC on-board, user-friendly programming software is beneficial for shops that are on a tight budget. Heart NC can program both 2 and 4 axes shapes and import CAD files.
The VZ500L wire EDM features a large capacity work tank that includes a vertical access door for ergonomic accessibility. Since the door slides down, the machine requires less operating space. The no-drip feature helps ensure a clean shop floor, maintaining a safe work environment.
QUASAR MF500C
The QUASAR MF500C 4+1 machining center offers axis travels of 21.7" / 31.5" / 24" and table size of Ø16.1". A degree: +30°~-120°. C degree: 360° (continuous).
YSP BML-600SC-10
The YSP BML-600SC-10 turning center with live tooling features XZ axis travels of 230 mm (9.1") and 600 mm (23.6"). C-axis is 246 mm (9.7"). XZ rapids are 20 m/min (787 IPM) and 16 m/min (630 IPM).
