ANCA has released its new EDGe erosion and tool grinding machine, which has the flexibility to erode polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tools and grind carbide and HSS tools on the same machine in a single set-up. According to the company, it is suitable for a wide variety of tools and applications.
The EDGe-Spark generator is built to monitor and control the energy level of every spark for optimum surface finish, material removal and cycle time. "ANCA's user-friendly ToolRoom software enables fast and versatile tool design supported by the robust reliability of ANCA machine design," said a company spokesperson.
"The benefits of performing the eroding and grinding operations on the one machine include reduced machine set-up time because all work can be done in a single machine," continued the spokesperson. "Tool accuracy is improved due to a single set-up, and fewer machines are required."
