"MST angle heads are available for virtually every 90°, 45° and invariable-angle application," said a Tecnara Tooling Systems spokesperson. "The MST system combines high speed capability with exceptional accuracy: up to 6,000 RPM with .0002 inch TIR at the cavity."
MST angle heads employ a through-the-body coolant system that cools the body and splashes the cutter simultaneously, helping provide long tool life and machining efficiency. "Precisely machined cast iron housings, hardened precision spiral bevel gears and precision angular contact ball bearings ensure design level performance for years to come," said the spokesperson.
Modular Series
The modular design provides complete interchangeability among shanks and angle heads, making it useful for short-run jobs. Within a couple of minutes, shanks and heads can be changed to meet the requirements of a new task. There is a wide range of projection lengths and collets. Angle heads are available in 45° and 90° configurations. Two-inch, 4", 6" extensions and miniature angle heads for tight space applications are also available.
Modular series attachments are now available with coolant-through cutting tools in selected models.
Solid and Flange Series
Designed for heavy-duty cutting, MST solid heads can be switched among machines with the same taper and flange. Equipped with an orientation ring and key, they can be set for any cutting direction. Flange Series heads are available in three angle shaft configurations: collet chuck, BT30 and CAT40 master holder type. According to the company, accuracy of .0002" TIR at the cavity is guaranteed. MST flange heads are bolted onto the spindle face for enhanced rigidity.
HALF Series
MST HALF Series angle heads are designed for light-duty operations, including drilling, tapping and milling. The HALF Mini is lightweight and slim. With up to 1/4" chucking capacity, the HALF Mini fits into I.D.s as small as 1.42". HALF universal-type angle heads can cut from any angle from 0° to 360° and 0 to +/- 120°. All HALF Series angle heads are available in CAT, BT, HSK, Capto and KM shaft configurations.
