Sabre Wet Blasting System
August 1, 2014
Vapormatt will launch its new wet blasting system, the Vapormatt Sabre, in the USA at IMTS. The Vapormatt Sabre has been developed as a cost-effective, high performance wet blasting tool designed to increase output quality on a range of cutting tools for small to medium volume manufacturers, coating centers and R&D facilities.
"The nozzle formation of the Sabre focuses blast guns on the faces and cutting edges, delivering consistent and controllable results," said a company spokesperson. "Total coverage of tools is ensured, offering edge radii within +/-5 micron (0.0002 inch) tolerance of specification and an improved surface for coating adhesion."
Because it carries an option to fit both Y- and X-axis nozzle arrangements, the Sabre offers not just customization opportunities but also hybrid functionality. In this one unit, round shank tools ranging from 3 mm to 30 mm (0.118" to 1.81") diameter and 46 mm to 307 mm (1.85" to 12.08") in length can be processed as well as cutting inserts. The Sabre can hold up to four Wendt or three Manz trays at a time. It has a footprint of 3.28 square meters (35.3 square feet).
