Horizontal, Vertical and Turning Centers
August 1, 2014
Fortune International will exhibit horizontal, vertical and turning centers.
Features of the Vcenter-H630HD heavy-duty horizontal machining center (HMC):
- Three-axis rapid feeds have been increased (compared with the original VC-H630 model) to 944 IPM and feature heavy-duty box ways. Ballscrew pitch has been reduced from 12 mm to 10 mm; HP is increased on all 3-axis servo motors. Three-axis thrust force upgrade X: 63%; Y: 60%; Z: 63% (includes longer Y-axis column).
- New ATC + tool magazine solenoid valve is upgraded with check valve and modified PLC. A new servo driven tool magazine is utilized in place of a hydraulic driving system.
- B-axis is upgraded to a deeper slope for less chips build-up; 0.001° B-axis worm gear is changed to roller cam drive. An optional hydraulic interface goes through the B-axis mechanism (coupling). Pallet loading capacity is increased from 2,200 lbs. to 2,640 lbs.
- A modified longer spindle and layout for spindle bearings is utilized. A new spindle with hollow taper reduces the contact surface between tool and spindle.
- Y-axis + Z-axis cover with layer gap faces downward (reversed design from VC-H630); a new casting is featured on the Y-axis column (6" higher).
- A new machine guarding with user friendly control panel is designed for easy operation. It also features improved chip and coolant disposal and less noise for the APC door.
Features of the Vturn-A26MCV horizontal turning center with BMT live turret:
- One piece slant bed with Meehanite casting distributes stress throughout the structure. To help ensure alignment in the machine structure, the bed is machined in a single set-up on a large 5-face machining center.
- Built-in spindle (DDS - Direct Drive Spindle) with dual winding spindle motor offers 27% extra torque output at low spindle speed than conventional belt-driven spindle, according to the company. A 2-step gearbox is included as standard and a 10" Kitagawa chuck.
- Wide span of 18.5" supports the bulky headstock, which has an oil cooling jacket to prevent heat build-up in the motor and to minimize thermal expansion.
- The NN type bearing design increases loading capacity to facilitate heavy cutting; a 4-layer labyrinth cover protects the spindle bearings.
- A spindle oil cooler is included as standard to prolong bearing service life.
- The servo driven turret is engineered and manufactured by Victor Taichung. This face mounted 12-station turret allows for fast tool indexing of 0.3 seconds (tool to tool). The wide carriage measuring 25.6" in length supports the heavy turret for reliable and continuous turning.
- Variable Series models include Y-axis, C-axis, sub-spindle, 35" or 51" center distances with VDI or BMT live turrets.
Features of the Vcenter-AX350 Advanced 5-axis vertical machining center (VMC):
- Victor Taichung's new Vcenter-AX350 is a C-frame type for full 5-axis machining.
- A rigid and tough column enables Z-axis acceleration to 0.75 G.
- Computer aided engineering (CAE) design with 27.5" span in the Y-axis helps provide stiffness. X-axis traveling range is 28.35" with a 350 mm (13.78") tilting rotary table.
- Directly-coupled spindle (DCS) with high torque spindle motor helps eliminate vibration from belts and enhance surface finish on components. The 12,000 RPM spindle with high torque output accommodates both heavy cutting at low RPM and high-speed machining.
