New FMC Systems for Lights-out Automation
August 1, 2014
YMT will showcase two new FMC systems from QUASER for lights-out automation.
The first FMC system features a high-speed HX-504 horizontal machining center (HMC) with eight-pallet shuttle type FMC system. The 19.7" x 19.7" pallet can handle part sizes up to 31.5" in height. This shuttle type FMC is easily expandable based on customer requirements. The HX-504 is equipped with 240 tool ATC capacity and full 4th axis capability with high-speed 15k RPM spindle and 1,000 PSI coolant through spindle capability. The high power 40 HP spindle and 2,360 IPM rapid feedrate offer enhanced cutting capability and machining efficiency.
The second FMC system features the versatile MF-400U 5-axis machining center with 40 pallet FMC system from QUASER. This set-up is useful for machining complicated medical and aerospace parts that require different fixtures and set-ups. The 40 pallet FMC and 120 tool capacity enable operators to machine parts continuously for days without interruption.
YMT will also exhibit its new, redesigned VL-1600ATC vertical turning center from YSP with new Rigid Clamping System (RCS) for ultra heavy cutting requirements. "With the heaviest and most rigid structure already in its class, the new RCS system will further enhance the cutting capability of this machine for titanium and Inconel turning requirements," said a company spokesperson.
For the oil and gas industry, YMT offers two lathes with oversized spindle bore for pipe threading and turning needs. The LL-750 Big-Bore CNC flat bed from L&L offers 29.5" swing over bed, 157" of distance between center and 9" spindle bore. With simple thread repair function, the LL-750 is useful for repairing pipe thread for oil and gas industry.
The second YMT SA-45 Big-Bore CNC turning center features a 60° true slant bed design with 14" spindle bore, is equipped with FANUC 31iTB controller with thread repair function and 12 station servo driven by Baruffaldi turret. The SA-45 is ideal for turning complicated pipe threads with accuracy and stability, according to the company.
YMT also will exhibit the high speed and high accuracy graphite AV-70S machining center from Quickjet and HIS-318 double column machining from Kao Ming. Both machines are designed to meet the demanding requirements of mold and die for the medical and automotive industries.
