Planer-Type Horizontal Machine

Toshiba Machine Co., America will feature one of its planer-type horizontal boring and milling machines at IMTS: the BP-150.R22 featuring a newly extended 140" Y-axis. With a 150 mm spindle diameter, the spindle provides increased accuracy in high-speed, deep hole boring applications.
A long nose spindle head is featured on the BP-150.R22 extending the spindle by 200 mm, which offers better access to the workpiece and helps ensure stable and accurate machining, even in heavy-duty applications.
The new spindle also includes a spring necked turning option that allows for composite machining of any shape along any plane. With a built-in rotary table, milling and boring can be performed along multiple sides of a workpiece with little or no repositioning, reducing production time.
The BP-150.R22 ranges in spindle speeds from 5 to 8,000 RPM and provides a coolant through spindle option.
