Toolmex Lathes will be showcasing its new TUR1550MN/CNC 4-axis turning center. This high precision, European Haco-FAT built multitasking turning center is Toolmex's newest and largest lathe.
The TUR1550MN, with 61" swing over bed, 43.3" swing over saddle and available from 78" to 707" between centers, has the capacity to handle big jobs. The IMTS lathe will feature the 4-axis version: X, Z, C with live tooling and Y-axis vertical for larger keyways or milling large flats on outside diameter. With a large, extra stable 40"/43" wide bed in addition to its large spindle bores options (5.5" to 24"), the TUR1550MN is built for heavy workloads up to 33,000 lbs. with option to 50,000 lbs. Semi-custom built to each customer's needs, TUR1550MN can be fitted with either Siemens or FANUC control systems, manual or power chucks, manual to 4 - 8 station turrets, hydraulic tailstock, deep boring attachments, manual or hydraulic steadies, indexing to full C-axis, Y axes or grinding head, making it suitable for industries such as power generation, oil and gas, steel, printing, etc.
"The modular construction of the TUR-1550MN, with 2-way or 4-way bed options along with the standard to extra HD designs, permits specific customer needs be addressed in the areas of HP, cutting torque, turrets, load capacity, multitasking functions, workholding, tooling, maintenance and software programming," said a Toolmex Lathes spokesperson. TUR-MN expanded lathe line covers: 10" to 118" chucks, parts lengths 78" to 1,000", loads to 100 tons between centers, main drives 20 to 300 HP, 2- to 5-axis in flat or slant beds executions.
