VTL Features Large Cast Iron Bed
August 1, 2014
Manufactured by Hankook Machine Tools in South Korea, the model VTC-250E vertical turning lathe (VTL) features 100 HP, 98" table, 118" turning capacity and 35 HP milling spindle, as well as full C-axis milling capability.
"Hankook, having one of the largest gear manufacturing facilities in Korea, is able to closely control the quality and accuracy of the gears for all our machines," said Phil Romanowski, Vice President of Hankook America in West Chicago, IL. "This gives us an advantage in controlling the C-axis gearing, which is critical when the axis changes direction during milling. Our rigid VTLs feature large cast iron beds under the main table, where others may have cut the casting."
Hankook offers VTLs with up to 40' turning capacity and 350-ton part capacity. Optional Y-axis and double rams offer more part machining capabilities. The company also offers horizontal lathes with large spindle through holes up to 21.6" and roll lathes up to 100' between centers and 150-ton part capacity.
