Reduce Tooling Set-Up Time
June 1, 2013
Benz offers its LinA push-type aggregate family from its LinTec line of broaches. They are designed for manufacturing of key ways, positioned ID and OD splines, gears and spur gears, as well as special profiles and geometric free forms (rough and finish work). Available in radial and axial versions, LinA is intended to reduce set-up and cycle times, as well as improve processes. Benz has reported key way broach cycle time reductions from 80 seconds to eight seconds.
LinA features a head with continuous lubrication roller bearings for reduced heat and improved performance. The radial version features working stroke of 32 mm and is capable of up to 1,000 strokes per minute. The shortened stroke version (17 mm) is designed to provide increased operating speed and higher rigidity.
The axial version is capable of up to 1,200 strokes per minute and features working stroke of 13 mm.
