A T Industrial Products (ATI) offers an extended line of its wet dust collectors and down draft tables/workbenches, which are designed to safeguard against dangers associated with combustible metal dust.
"Metal processes such as grinding, sawing, polishing, buffing and cutting can generate combustible metal dust as described in NFPA Standard 484, Combustible Metals," said a company spokesperson. "However, under certain conditions, even metal that is not normally explosive can become hazardous. The purpose of wet dust collectors and down draft tables is to ensure operator and plant safety by reducing, if not completely eliminating, the possibility of a dust fire or explosion."
ATI's down draft tables/workbenches feature a heavy-duty fiberglass work grate, reducing the possibility of scratching parts being processed. Available in eleven sizes and three styles, ATI's down draft tables can be attached to a wet or dry dust collector. Lightweight portable units are available, as well as environmental control booths for areas accommodating multiple tables or processing equipment systems. According to the company, vapor and dust tight T8 fluorescent lighting is standard on every bench for improved output. All benches are powder coated for durability. Lightweight polypropylene benches are available for 100% spark control.
