FIPA Offers Its EOAT Components in a Single Catalog

FIPA offers its comprehensive compendium of gripper technology in its new End-of-Arm-Tooling (EOAT) catalog GR07. "Our entire product listing is now available as a single catalog," said Rainer Mehrer, President of FIPA. The new EOAT catalog contains approximately 50 percent more products than its predecessor and has 472 pages and 12 chapters, including full color illustrations and diagrams.

The new EOAT catalog at a glance:

  • Complete gripper portfolio: all FIPA grippers and gripper components in a single catalog
  • New gripper components: profile connectors, angle arms, grippers with HNBR rubberized gripper pliers, quick-change-systems, sensors and more
  • Clear structure: navigation-friendly registration for rapid access to information
  • Sector-spanning products: selection of frequently used pneumatic, vacuum and linear technology components.

Gripper Systems Offered in Three Options

FIPA gripper system technology extends from individual gripper components to complete systems. Users can select from the three options offered in gripper assembly. In option 1, the customer will use technological consultation knowledge offered by FIPA when ordering the components required from the catalog; the customer will carry out the planning and installation of the gripper. In option 2, FIPA will carry out the planning of the gripper and the delivery of the gripper components; the customer will install the gripper on site using the detailed FIPA installation instructions. In option 3, FIPA will provide planning, installation and delivery of the complete gripper, which will only need fine adjustment on site.

Basic Components for Gripper Assembly

Significant basic components for gripper assembly are available, with new gripper components such as connecting elements, angle arms for integration of gripper components and a wide range of vacuum suction cups for the plastics industry. "Alongside extrusion-based systems, we also present plate-based systems based on aluminum and carbon fiber panels for lightweight solutions," said a company spokesperson. "Polyamide-laser forming technology permits economical realization of individual customer grippers in batch sizes of one.

"For the second time in just a few years, FIPA is the first to offer a sprue gripper with an elastomer covering. While the predecessor model was effective as a result of HBNR coating on the internal surface of the jaws, the new Series 100 pliers are now provided with HBNR coating on the four sides of the jaws. This not only provides very soft gripping, but it also reliably prevents scratching the surface of the workpiece by the sprue gripper itself. This effectively minimizes scrap production, which may be caused by the gripper inadvertently touching the workpiece." The gripper's design is registered.

Other products available are the Series 840 power grippers with lift, with their high gripping force for gripping flat sprues or straps. These are characterized by separate feed and back lifts. "While the feed stroke facilitates the precise positional approach to the workpiece, the back stroke achieves problem free removal of the gripper tools and thus facilitates secure placing of very large components," said the spokesperson.

The gripper catalog includes a selection of vacuum suction cups that are especially adapted for injection-molding unloading, peripheral components such as hoses and screwed connections, and linear technology such as short-stroke cylinders and guide blocks.

The EOAT catalog is available as a PDF download on the FIPA website and can also be ordered by contacting the company.
