Designs Upgraded on Modular Chain Fixtures
May 1, 2015
The versatile Royal Machine & Tool Modular Chain Fixture is designed to cover a large variety of diameters and configurations.
Royal Machine & Tool has upgraded its modular chain fixtures design to include commonality in parts and materials. "Our number-one priority is the upgrading of our products and services to provide greater workholding and cost efficiencies," said Guy Byrne, Senior Vice President & General Manager. "Specifically, we have made more parts common to a number of models, thus reducing the number of parts to keep in stock, reducing changeover time and providing more interchangeability. Changes made to materials on certain parts also allows better and easier machine ability."
"For more than 30 years, Royal Machine & Tool has specifically provided a variety of Modular Chain Fixtures to the valve industry worldwide, where its durability has been beneficial in holding an array of valve body sizes and shapes," said a company spokesperson. "The Modular Chain concept has also been applied to special fixtures for parts other than valves. Modular Fixtures are highly versatile as they expand or contract to fit the largest and smallest parts by clamping components in the X-Y-Z axes. Vee adjustments are self-centering or convertible to independent operation. System reduces the number of dedicated fixtures and changeover time required."
Royal Machine now offers its standard models ranging in eight sizes from 300 mm to 1,250 mm.
