Okuma has introduced its LU4000 EX CNC lathe that utilizes two turrets, allowing two tools to work simultaneously, providing process flexibility as well as high removal rates. This machine is suited for machining parts for the automotive industry.
The LU4000 EX incorporates a new 45° box bed with all box way construction, three point bearing support for the spindle, crown gear turret coupling for both turrets, two power ranges and the Okuma THINC-OSP control. This CNC lathe is Okuma's latest evolution of 4-axis turning in the 10-15" chuck class.
Key Features of the LU4000 EX CNC Lathe:
- Max Turning Diameter: 430 mm (16.93 in) upper turret and 280 mm (11.02 in.) lower turret
- Spindle Nose Type: A2-8
- Main Spindle Speed Range: 40~4,200 RPM
- Milling Spindle Speed Range: 45~6,000 RPM
- X/Z-Axis Travel: 300 mm (11.81 in.) / 740 mm (29.13 in.) upper turret and 195 mm (7.68 in.) / 700 mm (27.56 in.) lower turret
- Y-Axis Travel: 140[+/-70] mm (5.51[+/-2.76] in.).
