For Koma Precision and Tsudakoma, IMTS 2016 marks the arrival of the Tilt Ball Drive System Rotary Tables into the North American market. The Ball Drive system features advantages such as zero backlash, improved cycle times, energy conservation and a lifetime adjustment-free transmission system. The TBS tilt tables are designed for dual axis use on VMCs. A demonstration of the Ball Drive System will be on display in booth S-9153.
Also, new from Tsudakoma is the RDS Series direct drive rotary tables that utilize Tsudakoma's proprietary direct drive motor system, enabling the rotary table to achieve high speed and acceleration with no backlash. The new direct drive rotary tables also feature a slim low profile build that makes it suitable for mass production and high speed indexing operations in the automotive, medical and computer/electronic manufacturing industries.
Four new products from Alberti will be on display:
- High pressure offset angle heads - The new series of offset angle heads features a combination of high pressure coolant through the main spindle up to 100 bar with increased high speed option. Another advantage is the possibility of dry running during machining, which gives value to changing application needs.
- Hi Smart quick change angle heads - Alberti's Smart Change System enables easy and precise quick changing of the output adapters. The cost-effective units have a low profile with no additional projection to reduce the output profile. The easy-to-use design creates three points of contact between the angle head, output spindle and the smart change adapter. This triple contact design eliminates the compromise in concentricity and rigidity to gain the speed and convenience of quick change tooling. To further increase productivity, the SmartChange System allows for tools to be externally preset. So the Smart Change output adapters can be staged and ready to use.
- Hi Flex custom made special angle heads - Alberti products are designed to be reliable and enable manufacturing to strict tolerances. Fixed angle heads, offset angle heads, multiple output heads, long reach angle heads are just a few examples of Alberti's design and manufacturing capabilities.
- High speed Turboflex spindles - With the air driven high speed turboflex spindles it is possible to reach 60,000 RPM output. These high performance spindles can be easily installed on the machine through a special stop block and controller unit connected to the NC. These are most suited for micromachining, engraving, small drilling, milling and polishing operations.
IMTS 2016 also signifies the arrival of the new and advanced tool presetters from Elbo Controlli featuring a new tool management software package. The new E46L and E46L TW models feature an increased measuring range up to 600 mm on the Z-axis, a 22" HD touchscreen display along with optical autofocus and a new electronic control. The E46L and E46L TW are equipped with Elbo Controlli's proprietary spindle holder identification system. This technology enables the presetter to automatically identify the spindle holder after each replacement, eliminating operator error.
The intuitive user menu in the software allows operators to quickly and easily measure and save tool data. The software allows operators to create unique CNC machine origins and send offset information directly to the machine tool control. In addition, the software comes RFID ready to measure data to Balluff system.
The E46L is equipped with an advanced camera system to measure and inspect tools quickly and easily. The E46L TW model is equipped with two auxiliary cameras for inspection of the helix and face of the tool.
Five tool presetter models - the Larth, E346, Sethy Six, Hathor Six and E46L - will be on display at Koma's booth.
Also new in the booth will be the m&h product line offering a state-of-the-art measuring solution with probes and tool measuring system software that enables manufacturers to control quality of the part on the machine. "The new generation of m&h probes has proven to excel in harsh machining environments with extreme spindle acceleration, constant vibrations and temperature fluctuations, providing precise consistent measurements," said a company spokesperson.
