New Wire, Sinker and Micro Hole EDMs
August 1, 2016
The new ONA AV Series wire EDM machines are designed to provide high accuracy and high performance. Currently there are two AV models: the ONA AV25 with XYZ travels of 400 x 300 x 250 mm and the ONA AV35 with XYZ travels of 600 x 400 x 400 mm. Both models have U-V travels of 120 x 120 mm and feature a compact design.
Features of the AV machines:
- A new CNC CAM for advanced programming that features a user-friendly interface
- A new generator that can deliver surface finishes to 0.1 µm Ra.
- A new automatic threader designed to handle fine wires of up to .0003" in diameter
- LINUX based CNC with open architecture allows easy integration with robotics, third party CAD/CAM job and management software.
ONA will also exhibit its QX4 sinker line of EDMs. Designed for use in industries that need a very fine surface finish (VD1=0), the product consists of the machine tool, Microfine generator, dielectric filtration system and CNC control unit. Standard are a fire-warning device, pendant controller, lamp and flushing nozzles.
The QX4 Series was produced with ONA's new high-speed sinker EDM process technology to increase machine productivity. The new system works with advanced materials such as titanium-based alloys, ceramic hard metals, MoldMAX and others. The system decreases electrode wear and can be used for high aspect ratio cavities in aero-energy materials and the mold industry. Application-oriented and flexible, the new all-digital T-Rex generator allows for quick technical development for specialized applications.
ONA will introduce its MF5 Micro Hole EDM that is capable of drilling holes.004"-.020" in diameter. It is used as a production machine in the injector, aerospace and medical industries.
