The latest industrial camera generation USB 3 uEye CP from IDS is available with the CMOS sensors PYTHON 500, PYTHON 2000 and PYTHON 5000 from ON Semiconductor. In addition to the PYTHON 1300, IDS Imaging Development Systems offers three more members of the sensor series. The sensors are designed to provide high-speed, reaching more than 1,000 fps with the area of interest (AOI) feature.
The global shutter sensors of the PYTHON series are available as color or monochrome version. They include large and light-sensitive pixels with 4.8 µm.
Using the AOI feature with horizontal and vertical read-out, the combination of USB 3 uEye CP camera from IDS and ON Semiconductor sensor reaches a top speed of more than 1,000 fps.
The UI-3130CP model with the PYTHON 500 sensor is IDS' fastest camera in the optical class below 1 MP, providing more than 560 fps in full resolution (0.5 MP, 800 x 600 pixels). It is designed for slow motion or high speed tracking applications.
"The UI-3140CP model convinces with its EMVA1288 technical values: due to low noise it is suited for machine vision applications," said a company spokesperson. "A range of 57.5 dB helps ensure high-contrast images. The 1/2" sensor format and the resolution of 1.3 MP (1,280 x 1,024 pixels, 169 fps) are quite common in the market. They are used for a variety of inspection and quality assurance applications and are ideal for cost-effective C-Mount lenses."
Providing a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels (2.3 MP), the UI-3160CP with the PYTHON 2000 is designed for use with Full HD (>180 fps), which meets the need of both classical industrial applications and visualization tasks. "If required, a change to the 4:3 format (1,600 x 1,200 pixels), which is common in the field of medical technology, is possible," said the spokesperson.
In the field of 1"-sized sensors, the UI-3180CP with the PYTHON 5000 is a high resolution camera in its optical class (5 MP) with global shutter, providing 5.3 MP (2,592 x 2,048 pixels, 68 fps). For different user's requirements, both the square 2K x 2K format and Full HD are available. "The combination of size and number of pixels makes it ideal for use in the field of microscopy, especially eye inspection applications which benefit from switching between AOI and full resolution," said the spokesperson.
