Kitamura Machinery will introduce the enhanced high-speed, high-precision capabilities of its ultra-compact Mycenter-HX250iG HMC at IMTS 2016.
Manufactured in Japan, the Mycenter-HX250iG features rapids of 2,362 IPM and offers enhanced efficiency with the ability to drill, mill, bore, tap, thread and turn light to heavy duty materials on a single machine.
"Meehanite cast construction provides enhanced vibration absorption capabilities for improved surface quality, elevating finish capabilities to a higher level, at the same time overall life of cutting tools," said a company spokesperson.
The HX250iG features a small footprint of 6' x 9.7'. The HX250iG features a large work envelope, one piece sliding doors, large windows and door openings along with easy spindle access.
A 2-station APC is automation ready and field expandable up to 10 pallets for unmanned operation potential. The standard full 4th axis rotary table is newly designed with a direct drive motor, enabling speeds of 300 RPM (108,000 deg/min) rapids, helping to reduce part cycle times, eliminate backlash and provide a rigid machining platform.
A 40-tool fixed pot (assures tools are always returned to the same pot and the next tool to be used is kept in a "stand-by" pot) ATC allows for the addition of up to 102 tools in the field for backup/redundant tools. The machine has the ability to add on 5-axis simultaneous capabilities to not only one but both pallets after installation.
Standard is a high torque, 15 HP #30 taper, dual contact spindle. A 30,000 RPM HSK-E40 spindle is an available option for detailed machining applications.
"The HX250iG features a positioning accuracy of ±0.002 mm (±0.000079 inch)/full stroke with 67 million pulse encoder technology - delivering 67 times finer resolution and 67 times better finish accuracy," said the spokesperson.
Kitamura's icon-driven Arumatik-Mi control offers features such as on demand "HELP" guidance, visual work setting, maintenance support functions and a 19" swivel color LCD to guide the user in the control environment. SSS Control delivers high speed processing of 270 m/min feed with 1 mm/block, 4,500 blocks/sec for smoother and faster machining of complex workpieces.
Additional machines exhibited include the all new Mycenter-2XD "Sparkchanger" VMC with 180° rotating 2-station APC and Kitamura's newest addition to its 5-axis line-up, the Mytrunnion-4G simultaneous VMC.
