Heavy-Duty Long Bed Lathes

Kingston will showcase the HR 6000 30" x 240" 4" bore heavy-duty long bed manual lathe alongside its CNC counterpart, the CX4 40" x 160" heavy-duty precision CNC, at IMTS 2016.

Designed for long and heavy parts, the HR model comes in lengths up to 320" and swing sizes 30", 34" and 40". At the heart of this machine is a strong and rigid headstock with a hardened and ground main spindle, 4.06" bore, D1-11 spindle nose and a three-point bearing support system for enhanced cutting capability. Operators benefit from the increased control that comes with 16 spindle speeds (8-800 RPM) and a wide range of feeds and threading choices. The rib structure of the 22" bedway is made with high-quality casting to ensure greater stability and accuracy in heavy-duty applications.

For those looking for the same power and performance in a CNC lathe, Kingston will be featuring its CX4 40" x 160" model. Essentially the CNC version of the HR model, the CX4 is a heavy-duty precision CNC designed for heavy and long workpieces used in the energy, mining, textile, paper and transportation industries. It shares the same high-quality cast 22" bedway, headstock and 4.06" spindle bore as the HR model, but features an upgraded boxway cross slide on the carriage. This model is equipped with a V8 turret, a 25 HP/30 HP main motor, and a 5.45 HP and 9.5 HP AC servomotor that drive the X- and Z-axis, respectively. The headstock has four gear shifts controlled by hydraulics for greater torque, and the main spindle has the same three-point bearing support system - making it ideal for cutting heavy and hard materials.

Standard equipment on the CX4 includes an 11.9" steady rest with roller jaws, rear chip conveyor and FANUC 0i-TD controller with Manual Guide i and a threading repair function. The CX4 is available in 34" and 40" swings and lengths from 80" to 280". The CX series is also available in 7.09", 10", 12.5" and 14.5" bore.

Kingston will also show its HJ and HD models and the two-turret CL38 CNC model.
