Dual Chamber Heat Treating Furnace
August 1, 2016
Lucifer Furnaces will showcase a Red Devil RD8-KHE24 model (12" x 14" x 24"), equipped with a double pivot upper chamber door. The Red Devil is a dual chamber heat treating furnace designed with a high temperature hardening chamber mounted above a lower temperature draw oven in a compact model. "The dual chamber design delivers a full range of heat treating capability in-house to reduce turnaround time and maximize the productivity and efficiency of any tool room," said a company spokesperson.
The upper chambers feature higher power ratings for fast heat up, heavy gauge wire heating elements for longer life mounted in removable holders, a hearth plate to support the work load, multi-layered lightweight insulating firebrick for energy efficient operation and a vertical lift door that helps keep the hot face surface safely away from the operator.
Lower chambers are complete with a fan assembly to recirculate the air, providing uniform heating at low temperatures. A stainless steel liner forms the work area, directs the airflow and baffles the heating elements. Both chambers have the exact same work area dimensions, each controlled by a Honeywell digital temperature controller. The furnaces are completely wired and shipped ready for connection to the customer's main power supply.
Available chamber sizes range from 6" x 6" x 6" up to 24" x 36" x 72". To satisfy customer specific heat treating needs, furnace options include operation with protective atmospheres, silicon carbide heating elements for higher temperatures to 2,500 °F, fiber insulation models for faster heating and cooling, as well as lower chamber temperature ratings up to 1,600 °F.
