September Open House, New Manual Lathe Functionality Announced

Toolmex Lathes will hold an open house running concurrently with IMTS 2016. Toolmex Lathes will be open daily September 12-16 from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Toolmex Lathes, the exclusive U.S. importer for TUR European built lathes from FAT-Haco in Poland, will have TUR Manual, Manual plus and CNC versions under power. The lathes will feature FANUC Manual Guide i and Siemens Shop Turn Manual Operate and will be available with TUR's newest technology, the SC manual station.

Five models of TUR630-930 in SC/MN/CNC lathes will be shown, featuring 24"-38" swings x 118"-236" bc, 4"-12" spindle bores and 20-50 HP. Toolmex European TUR lathes are designed for heavy industries with demanding applications, including power generation, transportation, machinery manufacturing, print, oil and gas, foundry, steel and mining.

Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the operations, operate a TUR, have refreshments, meet with engineers and view the spare parts center. To schedule an appointment, contact Beata at 800-992-4766, ext. 125.

Toolmex TUR-SC Manual Control Station

The TUR-SC station, a new manual control station option for TUR Manual plus CNC lathes, allows a machinist to operate the TUR-MN/CNC lathes manually. Like a conventional lathe, the SC station features a straightforward carriage and apron with some of the same levers and controls as a manual lathe. The large interactive display screen and keyboard station still allow full CNC operations.

This TUR-SC manual control station features an easier-to-operate semi-manual servo conventional set-up for increased productivity and tighter tolerances. Built for manual machinists or CNC beginners, the TUR-SC carriage station allows a machinist to easily select/change:

  • Infinitely variable spindle speeds
  • Variable feedrate
  • Digital readout functionality
  • Four-way joystick for longitudinal and cross direction
  • Manual QC toolpost (one or four-way)
  • Four-way rapid traverse
  • Actual spindle speed displayed
  • Spindle start and stop

The TUR-SC carriage station is available on most TUR-SC/MN/CNC lathes, including 22"-61" swings x 40"-472" bc, in 1-3 axis versions.
