Kitamura Machinery's new Mycenter-HX630G horizontal machining center (HMC) is designed to deliver high precision and high quality machining of close tolerance parts from tough materials. For enhanced productivity, it features a larger work envelope and cutting/table load capacities when compared with previous models.
Manufactured in Japan with hand scraping production techniques, Mycenter-HX630G features include solid box way construction with 2,362 IPM rapid feedrates on solid box ways, twin ballscrews and motors in the X, Y and Z axes and linear scale feedback on all axes for stability and high accuracies of +/-0.000079" full stroke, +/-0.000039" repeatability.
The Mycenter-HX630G is equipped standard with a #50 54 HP, 12,000 RPM dual contact, four-step gear driven spindle that delivers 432.2 ft-lbs. of maximum torque with high end power. This 50 taper machine offers the versatility for roughing with fine finish capabilities in a single set-up. An optional 8,000 RPM high torque spindle is available with 904.2 ft-lbs. of maximum torque. "The energy efficient geared spindle design demonstrates savings of between 40% and 50% in kilowatt-hours for increased productivity and savings," said a company spokesperson. Kitamura now offers an HSK-A100 spindle design as an available option.
Kitamura's Mycenter-HX630G HMC offers a maximum workpiece size of 42.5" x 51.2" (dia. x height) within a small footprint. A standard two-station APC is field expandable and is coupled with full 360° 4th axis capability with rotary scale for faster, more accurate production per pallet load.
A 50-tool fixed pot automatic tool changer is standard with upgrade capabilities of up to 200 tools in the field. The advanced high-speed processing of the Arumatik-Mi controller allows for smoother and faster machining of complex workpieces with the potential to add 5th axis simultaneous machining capabilities on both pallets.
