European Built 4-Way Bed Turning Centers

Toolmex Lathes, the national American importer for TUR-MN machinery, has announced a new line of advanced 4-way bed turning centers from HACO-FAT of Poland. The TUR-3MN and TUR-4MN lathes have continued to expand their large swing lathe solutions, which are now available for the American market. Toolmex European TUR lathes are used for heavy industry segments, including power generation, transportation, machinery manufacturing, oil and gas, foundry, steel and mining.

These next generation TUR 4-way turning centers cover a wider range of sizes, applications and technologies. All series have four guideways and a solid bed casting floor to front V-way (without legs), for turn-through steady rests capability and greater stability. This allows for long parts, supported between the center and with one or multiple steadies to be machined end-to-end, without the normal interference and changeover time as on 2-way flat bed lathes, the company reported.

Available in four series and over a dozen swing diameters, TUR-3/4MN lathes offer users a semi-custom to full customized solution by selecting their specific swing, power, torque, axes (2-4), CNC (FANUC or Siemens), workholding, automation, load capacity, level of technology and investment required to produce their parts.

"Designed with the operator's needs in mind, all lathes offer labor and time-saving features and better ergonomics," said a company spokesperson. "Additionally, the 4-SMN and 4-MN series feature a unique step-bed design allowing the operator better access to spindle centerline, which is critical for tooling and parts set-up to measurement."

Series ranges and capacities:

  • TUR800-1100-S4MN: 19" - 30" OCS x 78" - 393" bc, 30 - 50 HP, load capacities to 12,000 lbs. bc (w/o steadies)
  • TUR1300-1600-3MN: 39" - 51" OCS x 188" - 629" bc, 50 - 100 HP, load capacities to 33,000 lbs. bc (w/o steadies)
  • TUR700-2000-4MN: 27" - 63" OCS x 188" - 629" bc, 50 - 100 HP, load capacities to 66,000 lbs. bc (w/o steadies)
