The Mazak INTEGREX j-200 multitasking machine is designed for high productivity, accuracy and flexibility when machining large components and complex workpieces.
"Unlike multitasking machines with drum-type turrets, the INTEGREX j-200 comes with a standard 20-tool magazine and the option of having a 36- or 72-tool magazine to further increase versatility in part production," said a company spokesperson. The machine's main turning spindle with C-axis control features an 8" chuck mounted on a 15 HP (11 kW), 5,000 RPM integral spindle motor that generates 119 ft-lbs. of torque for handling demanding metal removal applications. The machine can be equipped with an optional 20 HP, 5,000 RPM spindle that generates 172 ft-lbs. of torque.
The INTEGREX j-200 also includes a 10 HP (7.5 kW), 12,000 RPM milling spindle that can be indexed in 5° (or optional 1°) increments from 30° to 190° (B-axis control), making it possible to perform O.D. machining, as well as turning, facing, grooving and threading with the same flash tool. It also makes for more efficient incline machining as well as all other conventional machining processes.
Additionally, the milling spindle can be radially indexed and clamped, enabling the same tool to be used for turning in both forward and reverse directions. Due to its rigid machine construction and new high-response servomotors, the INTEGREX j-200 provides repeatable tool tip positioning.
The long-bed model of the INTEGREX j-200 features a 40" (1,016 mm) bed length. For the added support of long workpieces, a steady rest is available for this machine model.
The standard/short bed size INTEGREX j-200 features a maximum machining diameter and length of 19.7" (500 mm) with minimum tool interference for large workpieces. Its axis strokes of 17.7" (450 mm) in X and 7.87" (200 mm) in Y allow face milling, end milling and drilling to take place above and below the centerline without C-axis indexing. "In addition, the machine's true Y-axis design allows for a larger machine envelope and better tool reach, reduced interference and enhanced chip evacuation when compared to conventional machines," said the spokesperson.
The INTEGREX j-200 features Mazak's MX hybrid roller guide system that Mazak reported offers increased levels of durability and reliability, resulting in long-term machine accuracy. "The MX hybrid roller guide system dampens vibration to extend tool life, handles higher load capacities, accelerates and decelerates quicker to shorten cycle times, consumes less oil for greener operations and lasts longer with less required maintenance," said the spokesperson.
Mazak's MATRIX NEXUS CNC control allows for both conversational and EIA/ISO programming, and provides easy programming for C-axis, Y-axis and angle machining. MATRIX also features realistic 3-D machining simulations, time study analysis and the Mazak Voice Advisor, which assists operators during set-up to make initial operations smoother and safer.
