The CX 4, the CNC version of Kingston's HR model engine lathe, is a heavy-duty precision CNC lathe designed for heavy and long workpieces for the energy, mining, shipping, textile, paper and transportation industries.
At the heart of this machine is the strong and rigid headstock with a hardened and ground main spindle. The headstock has four gearshifts controlled by hydraulics for greater torque. The spindle features a 4.06" bore, A1-11 spindle nose and a three-point bearing support system for enhanced cutting capability. The CX 4 is equipped with both a powerful 25 HP/30 HP main motor and a 5.45 HP and 9.5 HP AC servomotor that drives the X- and Z-axis, respectively.
The CX 4 is available in 30", 34" and 40" swing and lengths from 80" to 280". Standard equipment includes a V8 turret, 11.9" steady rest with roller jaws, a rear chip conveyor and FANUC 0i-TD controller with Manual Guide i and the useful threading repair function. Options include a H4 turret, live tooling and a 6" boring bar support. It will soon be available with the optional Siemens 828D with Shop Turn for customers needing teach control functions.
The CX series is also available in 7.09", 10.1", 12.5" and 14.8" bore.
