Machine Tool Technology (MTT) is a machine tool maintenance and repair company that specializes in CNC machine tool calibration. The company utilizes the Renishaw XL80 laser system as well as the QC20-W ballbar systems.
MTT was founded in 1998 in Houston, TX. Since then it has expanded its capabilities and in 2005 began utilizing the Renishaw ML10 laser and QC10 ball systems. In 2009 all of the calibration tools were upgraded to include the XL80 laser system, RX10 rotary axis checker and five QC20-W Ballbar systems. In 2013 MTT became an authorized distributor and integrator of Renishaw products.
With each accuracy verification and certification, customers receive complete documentation of each test done. The MTT testing platform of "As Found, No Compensation and As Left" provides a complete picture of the machine tool. All tests satisfy ISO and ASME standards. Every document has certification numbers with traceability to every recognized global standards laboratory, including the NIST. "All of this ensures that the machine tool will operate at an optimum level of efficiency after our tests are completed," said a company spokesperson.
"Our calibration equipment undergoes regular testing to make certain customers' tests are conducted with reliable equipment," said the spokesperson. "Calibration certificates for all calibration units are kept with the unit that is sent onsite and a duplicate is also kept at the MTT facility for its quality assurance program."
Along with the calibration services, MTT offers training in the utilization of Renishaw probing, QC20-W ballbar and XL80 laser systems onsite or in its training facility located at its corporate facility.
MTT practices continuing education for all of its technicians. Everyone receives training on the latest calibration and probing/measuring tool technology. The company also places a high emphasis on safety training. This includes safety workshops. Every technician must attend and pass the Houston Area Safety Counsel Safety test. Upon completion, each person receives a photo I.D. badge that is worn when entering the customer's facility.
"With an eye on the future, MTT will continue to hire technicians and sales people committed to keeping our customer machine tool investments running in top form," said the spokesperson.
