Vertical Turning Lathe for Energy Manufacturing

CNC Systems, Inc. has launched the PL350CM with a 3500 mm table that can swing and cut up to a 4,000 mm part. The standard tool changer has 16 tool stations and the PL350CM has an additional 60 tool stations which can be expanded up to 200 tool stations using CAPTO Tools. The PL Series starts at a 1,600 mm table to a large 5,000 mm table, stated the company.
The PL Series features capabilities for vertical turning, vertical and horizontal milling, Y-axis table movement, C-axis table movement, quick change chuck/fixtures, grinding, dual rams, full axis travel with the single ram, additional Z-axis travel and open height, hydraulic chucks and an expanded automatic tool changer.
"The advantage of having a machine this size, with all its capabilities, is that it allows manufacturers to put the largest of parts on one machine and perform multiple machine operations on it without having to tear down and set up their parts again, saving time, reducing handling and increasing throughput," said a company spokersperson.
