Vertical Machining Center for Long Parts and Complex Fixturing
September 1, 2015
The KENT USA KVTC-3270 CNC Traveling Column Vertical Machining Center features a large working envelope with 126" x 28" x 24" (3,200 mm x 711 mm x 610 mm) travels and a small floor space footprint.
The KVTC-3270's long fixed/stationary table is designed for applications with long parts or complex fixturing requirements. A fixed table also makes robotic integration and automation easier and more reliable than a comparable moving-table design, stated the company. The table can be partitioned into two halves with one half machining the part, while the other half is being loaded/unloaded by the operator or a robotic loading system to increase cycle time and overall productivity.
"The Linear Roller Guideways on all three axes provide smooth and precise machining with superior rigidity for improved tool life, part finish and overall machining performance," said a company spokesperson. The spindle motor is direct-mounted and comes standard with a 10,000 RPM, 40-taper spindle and chiller. Options include 50-taper spindle, thru spindle coolant and up to 30,000 RPM spindles. A 24-tool ATC is standard with 32- and 40-tool magazine options available.
