Five Types of Steady Rests for Variety of Applications

LNS America offers four models of steady rest-based automatic workholding systems plus manual units that, together, cover a large variety of applications. Each model can be custom-designed for the user's specific requirements. They include all necessary components, including the appropriate steady rest system, custom brackets, automatic clamp bases, valve packages, hose track assemblies as needed and electrical connection to the machine tool interface.

The five LNS models include:

  • SLUX Standard steady rests are multi-purpose, available with manual or automatic lubrication, and include side cylinder model options for tight clearances.
  • SR Premium steady rests have a fully sealed body and hardened arms for greater durability. They also provide coolant delivery through all three arms.
  • K steady rests have a compact design that allows large part clamping in smaller machine envelopes and provides coolant delivery through the outer arms.
  • KLU steady rests have narrow arms for use in grooves or short clamping diameters, and provide coolant delivery through the outer arms.
  • Manual steady rests can be custom designed to maximum capacity.
