Large Volume Measurement System

The OGP SmartScope Quest 650 multisensor dimensional measurement system offers large measuring volume with high payload capacity for demanding applications in automotive and aerospace manufacturing settings.

SmartScope Quest 650 accommodates parts weighing up to 100 kg within an XYZ measuring volume of 610 x 660 x 400 mm, allowing high accuracy measurement of a wide variety of parts and assemblies.

At the heart of the Quest 650 is the patented TeleStar telecentric zoom lens system. "TeleStar optics offer a very long working distance and convenient magnification range, and are fully telecentric throughout their range, allowing automatic optical measurement of very large or very small features," said a company spokesperson. "Quest 650 combines its TeleStar optics with high-speed linear motor stages and a massive granite structure to ensure high performance even in harsh working environments."

SmartScope Quest 650 offers full multisensor versatility, integrating optional touch trigger probes, scanning probes, laser and micro-probe sensors. It can also be equipped with an optional SP25 scanning probe/PH10 motorized probe head to automatically acquire surface data points via continuous contact between user-defined start and end points. Feather Probe adds micro-probing capability with milligram-level probing pressure for small features on fragile or sensitive parts, and Rainbow Probe scanning white light sensor characterizes Z-axis topography at the nanometer level. A long-working-distance interferometric TeleStar TTL laser, coaxial with system optics, reaches deep into parts to measure without encountering obstructions while yielding micron-level accuracy. All sensors are available under program control, and all can be used interchangeably within the same measurement program.

SmartScope Quest 650 is available with QVI ZONE3 CAD-based metrology software. The ZONE3 user interface features real-time 3D kinematic animations that show the relationships of sensors and sensor ranges, stages and fixtures to one another. Integrated GD&T functionality that is fully compliant with ASME Y14.5 is built in to ZONE3, and Snapshot image processing measures every feature in the field of view in parallel to speed video measurements. Simultaneous evaluations, custom reporting, variables and scripting are all integral features of ZONE3.

For even larger XYZ measurement volumes, OGP offers SmartScope Quest 800. Quest 800 provides an expansive 790 x 815 x 250 mm XYZ measurement volume, with optional 300 or 400 mm extended Z-axis travel.
