The new EM1620L VMC, stacked and rotating on an FBB-110L horizontal boring and milling machine, and the SMART-B818III multifunction CNC surface grinder were under power during the open house.
Visitors saw the new EM2033L VMC, a milling machine, and the FSG-1224ADIII, a fully automatic high-precision grinder, in action.
Machine Tool Diagnostics Inc. (MTD), a distributor of machine tools and services, recently hosted an open house at its home base in Montgomery, IL, a western suburb of Chicago.
Visitors to the two-day event included those engaged in such industries as die-mold, defense, medical, agriculture, aerospace, material handling and machine building.
MTD had seven Chevalier machines under power at the open house, including:
- QP2443, a 50-taper, heavy-duty vertical machining center (VMC)
- EM1620L and EM2033L, two new high-speed VMCs
- FBB-110L, a horizontal boring mill
- FBL-360B MC, a slant-bed lathe with box ways and live tooling
- FSG-1224ADIII, a 3-axis fully automatic high-precision grinder featuring touchscreen control
- SMART-B818III, a multifunction CNC surface grinder.
"We really wanted to showcase the quality machinery to new customers who do not know anything about MTD and our principle builders. In that capacity, we exceeded our expectations," Mike Plachetka, MTD's VP of Sales and Machining Systems, said at the company's 5,000 sq. ft. facility.
This was MTD's fifth consecutive open house. This year's event featured a customer and vendor appreciation golf outing in the afternoon. Before the open house concluded, a QP2443 VMC was sold.
MTD was formed in 2003 as a machine tool service organization for the metalcutting industry. It has been a Chevalier distributor since 2010.
