RÖHM Showcases Workholding Technology at EMO 2015

RÖHM will present new workholding technology designed for increased efficiency, ergonomics, weight reduction and convenience at EMO MILANO 2015. The company will showcase electrically powered clamp release units, redesigned compact vises, micro-clamping technology, lightweight key bar chucks, complete workholding solutions for crankshaft machining and an online custom clamping jaw configurator.

"EMO attendees interested in conserving energy and reducing costs will want to check out the new clamp release units RÖHM has added to its e-QUIPMENT line. Like all of the clamping and gripping products in the line, these clamp release units are powered by electricity as opposed to hydraulics. Shops and machine tool builders can now achieve even higher levels of efficiency through RÖHM's electro-mechanical systems. The entire e-QUIPMENT line makes the concept of all-electric machine tools a reality," said a company spokesperson.

RÖHM recently redesigned its RKE NC-Compact vise clamping system that provides horizontal, lateral and vertical mounting options. Known for its high working accuracy, EMO attendees will get to see how this vise's improved ergonomics make it even easier to use in CNC machining operations, stated the company.

"When it comes to the production of delicate, extremely small workpieces, RÖHM paves the way in micro-clamping technology. EMO attendees will learn how the company's highly specialized clamping systems for this complex market segment allows manufacturers of medical devices, watches and jewelry to securely clamp components without having to worry about deformation," said a company spokesperson.

RÖHM's DURO-TA XT key bar chuck, engineered with weight reduction, workpiece accessibility and application flexibility in mind, will also be on display. "Up to 75 percent lighter than competitive designs, the DURO-TA XT features extended and easily detachable guideways that allow for an unmatched clamping range and the quick conversion between small and large workpieces. Through the direct mount on the base body, these guideways provide high rigidity, stability and protection against dirt and dust," said a company spokesperson.

RÖHM will spotlight complete workholding technology for crankshaft machining at EMO, including steady rests, power chucks, grippers and swivel units.

"The web2product online product configurator will be on display at EMO. When a standard product is unable to meet a special clamping requirement, manufacturers can use this online tool to easily configure a customized clamping jaw and follow its progression in real-time. RÖHM guarantees the manufacture of individual, customer-specific clamping jaws within five days," said the spokesperson.
