New Wireless Control Options

Koike Aronson, Inc./Ransome, a leading manufacturer of metalcutting and positioning equipment, has announced new wireless control options for all new and existing Koike units. According to the company, the new wireless pendant control and wireless foot switch are now available on all Koike Aronson/Ransome positioners, turning rolls, headstock and tailstock positioners, and manipulators as new machine options and easy retro fits to machines already at work.

The wireless pendant control features a high-resolution screen that displays system status, diagnostics and more. It features a 2.4 GHz frequency and is rated Nema 4 (IP66). "The pushbuttons have gold-plated contacts for long life and a snap action for sure use, even with gloves," said a company spokesperson. "The control's case is durable and ergonomically designed for one-handed comfort, and it is compact and lightweight to prevent operator fatigue." Controls include directional pushbuttons momentary or latched, proportional speed pushbuttons, rapid traverse and E-stop. The control is designed to minimize power consumption and provides a long battery life. 2-axis and 4-axis models are available.

The wireless foot switch offers a 2.4 GHz frequency, variable speed and directional Fwd/Rev control with one foot, while a micro-switch on the sidewall controls direction. It has an approximately 60-ft. range, and up to five switches can work in the same area without interfering with one another. Its battery life is estimated at 4,000 hours based on a 50% duty cycle.
